Interim Common Core Assessments
Many districts across the country are facing resource challenges in creating robust
assessment forms to monitor student progress and achievement. To help overcome these
resource challenges, Riverside is pleased to provide the Interim Common Core Assessment
forms for Mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy. These assessments are
constructed using a parallel blueprint to show growth comparison and consist of
three parallel assessments with 50-65 items per form for grades 2-12. All items
within the assessment forms include item attributes such as cognitive difficulty
levels and Bloom’s Taxonomy. In addition, the reading passages include Lexiles®
and Flesch-Kincaid readability levels. These assessments can be administered as
benchmark assessments for the fall, winter, and spring or as pre, mid, and post
assessments to help monitor student progress.
