WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program, Version 1.1b Permissions Update

This patch only applies to Windows 2000 and Windows XP users. If you are not using a Windows 2000 or Windows XP machine for the program, you do not need this patch.

Instructions for Downloading and Installing the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program, Version 1.1b Windows 2000/Windows XP Permissions Update

This update addresses the permissions issue for users who do not have administrator account privileges to run the WJ III^® Compuscore^® and Profiles Program Version 1.1b on computers with Windows^® 2000 or Windows XP operating systems. If the user account does not have read/write access to the C:\Program Files\Riverside Software\WJ III Compuscore directories, and an error message occurs when starting the program, downloading and installing this update will resolve this permissions issue.

Note: To install the permissions update, you must have WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program, Version 1.1b installed on your computer.

Before downloading and installing the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program Version 1.1b Permissions Update, print and read the following instructions.

Downloading the Update File

1. Open a Web browser (Internet Explorer^® or Netscape^® Navigator).
2. Go to http://www.riverpub.com/products/clinical/wj3/support_software.html.
3. To download the update file, right-click here.
4. Choose either Save Target As (for Internet Explorer) or Save Link As (for Netscape Navigator) to download the update.
5. When the Save As dialog box appears, select Desktop and then click Save. The file WJIIIupd_xp.zip will download onto the Desktop.
6. After the WJIIIupd_xp.zip file has downloaded, close the Web browser.

Extracting the Update File

Note: Before installing the update, you must have administrator privileges. If you have not already done so, log on to Windows as an administrator or as a user with administrator privileges before installing the update.

1. When you are ready to install the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program Version 1.1b Update, quit all Windows programs that are currently running, including any virus protection programs.
2. On the desktop, double-click the WJIIIupd_xp.zip icon. The WinZip^® window will appear.
   Note: If you do not have WinZip installed on your computer, you can download an evaluation version from WinZip.
3. Double-click the Setup.exe file in the WinZip window.
4. When the Install dialog box appears, click OK. The installation will start automatically.

Installing the Update File

1. In the Welcome window, click Next.
2. In the Software License Agreement window, click Yes.
3. In the Choose Destination Location window, click Next if the original program is installed in the default location, C:\Program Files\Riverside Software\WJ III Compuscore. If the original program is installed in another location, click Browse and select the folder where the program is installed. Then click Next.
4. In the Select Program Folder window, Riverside Software\WJ III Compuscore appears in the Program Folders text box. If the original program is installed in the default location, click Next. If the program is installed in another location, enter the folder name in the Program Folders text box and then click Next.
5. In the Setup Complete window, click OK.
6. After the installation is complete, return to WinZip and click OK to close the Install dialog box. Then quit the WinZip program.
