Instructions for Installing the WJ III Compuscore V1.1b Update

Below are instructions to print and read before downloading the new WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program Version 1.1b for your operating system. Instructions are included for:

• Macintosh [View Instructions] [Download]
• Windows 95, 98 and ME [View Instructions] [Download]
• Windows NT and 2000 [View Instructions] [Download]

In order to install the Version 1.1b update, you must have the previous version of the program already installed on your computer.

1. Macintosh Instructions

1. Download the appropriate file below onto your desktop.
2. When the download is complete, the WJ III Compuscore Install icon may automatically be extracted from the WJ III upgrade1.1a.sit file. If you need to extract the WJ III Compuscore Install you can use Stuffit ExpanderTM (available as a free download from Aladdin Systems). Or another extraction utility to extract the WJIII Compuscore install program.
3. Click the WJ III Compuscore Install icon to start the installation program.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. (See notes below about the Installation Location)
5. Launch the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program as usual, making sure the splash screen displays Version 1.1b in the lower right hand corner.

Installation Location Notes

1. If you installed the original program to the default directory, which is on your Macintosh HD, Riverside Software, WJ III Compuscore and Profiles folder, at the WJ III Compuscore Install screen you only need to select the Install button and the software will automatically be updated.
2. If you have installed the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program to a location other than the default location you need to select the Install Location which will be the Folder that contains the Riverside Software folder. For example, if you installed the original program to the Macintosh HD, Applications, Riverside Software, WJ III Compuscore and Profiles you will need to set the Install Location to the Applications folder. Once you have selected the correct Install Location then click on the Install button to run the installation.

2. Windows 95, 98, and ME instructions

1st Step-Download the Update File

1. Open up a web browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.). Go to the update page, http://www.riverpub.com/support/software.htm. Under the paragraph about the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program, click on more information...
2. Then click on the link for the new WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program Version 1.1b for Windows 95, 98 and ME, with the left mouse button. The Save As window will open automatically.
3. On the Save As window, go to the Desktop, and then click on Save.
4. The file will download onto the Desktop.
5. After the file has finished downloading, close the web browser.

2nd Step-Expanding the Compressed WJIIIupd.exe File into Its Installer Files

1. Double click on the WJIIIupd.exe file.
2. The WinZip Self-Extractor window will open. Click on Setup.
3. The installation will start automatically.

3rd Step-Installing the WJ III Compuscore and Profile Program, Version 1.1b Update

1. On the Welcome window, click on Next.
2. On the Software License Agreement window, click on Yes.
3. On the Choose Destination Location window, click on Next if the original program is installed in the C:\Program Files\Riverside Publishing Company\WJ III Compuscore folder. If it is installed in another folder, click on Browse and select the folder the original program is installed in, and then click on Next.
4. On the Select Program Folder window, leave Riverside Software\WJ III Compuscore if the default was originally chosen or enter the folder where the original program was installed, and then click on Next.
5. On the Setup Complete window, click on OK.
6. On the first screen of the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program, Version 1.1b will appear in the lower right-hand corner. (You can also check to make sure the program updated by going into the Help drop-down menu and looking at the version in the About WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program option.)

3.Windows NT and Windows 2000 instructions

1st Step-Download the Update File

1. Open up a web browser (Netscape, Internet Explorer, etc.). Go to the update page, http://www.riverpub.com/support/software.htm. Under the paragraph about the WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program, click on more information...
2. Then click on the link for the new WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program Version 1.1b for Windows NT, with the right mouse button, and then choose either Save Target As, in Internet Explorer, or Save Link As, in Netscape; to download.
3. On the Save As window, go to the Desktop, double-click on it, and then click on Save.
4. The file will download onto the Desktop.
5. After the file has finished downloading, close the web browser.

2nd Step-Expanding the Compressed WJIIIupd.exe File into Its Installer Files

1. On the Desktop, double click on the wjiiiv1.1a.zip file. This will launch WinZip and the uncompressed files will be shown.(If you do not have WinZip you can download an evaluation version from Winzip)
2. After all the files have been inflated in WinZip, double-click on the Setup.exe file.
3. On the WinZip Install screen, click on OK. This will begin the WJ III 1.1a Update installation.

3rd Step-Installing the WJ III Compuscore and Profile Program, Version 1.1b Update

1. On the Welcome window, click on Next.
2. On the Software License Agreement window, click on Yes.
3. On the Choose Destination Location window, click on Next if the original program is installed in the C:\Program Files\Riverside Publishing Company\WJ III Compuscore folder. If it is installed in another folder, click on Browse and select the folder the original program is installed in, and then click on Next.

6. Lastly, go back into WinZip and click on OK on the Install screen and close the WinZip program

(You can also check to make sure the program updated by going into the Help drop-down menu and looking at the version in the About WJ III Compuscore and Profiles Program option.)
